About

Kodachrome Memories: A summer full of fun and the open sky. I had a box full of cameras, handfuls of film, and the curiosity of a ten-year old boy; that’s where my life-long passion for photography began. With the click of a shutter my three-dimensional world was transformed into a two-dimensional object, an indelible reminder of a moment that has passed. The journey was underway…
Flatbeds, Darkrooms, and the Soft Northern Light: Eight years later I set my sights on a career in the visual arts, but first I would spend the next 4 years immersed in a world of visual addiction. At the Rochester Institute of Technology’s school of Film and Video I watched movies, made movies and studied the classics. I learned all of the technical aspects of photography, but more importantly I was taught the value of having a vision.
The Electronic Fireplace: It’s now been close to 20 years since I graduated college. I’ve been fortunate enough to apply what I was taught in school to a career in television. My years as a television editor have helped develop my photographic eye; the technical side of photography has become second nature. Now I can focus primarily on the creative.
The Changing Light: Now I find myself with a closet full of camera equipment, stacks of hard drives, and the satisfaction that comes from a 30 year long photographic journey. The tools may have changed but the fundamentals still remain: good light, composition, and subject. I love to spend my free time in the outdoors watching how the light changes across the landscape. The goal of my work is to capture these passing moments and to share with others the simplicity, the beauty, and the wonder of our natural world.
